MFY in Birmingham
Birmingham has long been host to MFY’s inspirational National Festival. In 2024, we relocated to our new home at CBSO Centre, placing us at the heart of this incredible city.
Primary Live
Primary Live is a fun, dynamic and educational concert designed for young people aged 4 – 11. Pupils will enjoy high-quality performances by young musicians presenting a wide range of musical styles, instruments and ensembles - all in an inspiring, professional concert hall setting.
Together For Music
Supported by Trinity College London’s Awards and Certificates in Musical Development qualification (ACMD), in association with the Sounds of Intent programme, and hosted in Birmingham.
Together For Music promises to empower and inspire everyone involved, promoting groups of all abilities within the deaf, neurodivergent and disabled communities, featuring live, inclusive performances from young people, interactive workshops and a marketplace of accessible and adapted instruments and inclusive music organisations.
Creative Careers
The Frequencies Creative Careers Programme offers paid work experience, professional training, and mentoring to help young people aged 16-25 gain the skills, confidence, and industry insight needed to take their next step. Offering a wide range of industry roles such as event production, stagecraft, presenting, social media and marketing, each participant is guided with expert mentors and are paid at the National Living Wage (age 21-25) or National Minimum Wage (age 16-20) whilst gaining experience. Past trainees have gone on to work at renowned venues and organisations such as the Arts Council England, The Southbank Centre, BBC, Royal Albert Hall, Glastonbury and more.
