How you can get involved
AFTERGLOW YOUNG PRODUCERS
Commissioned by Music For Youth and Led by Lewisham Music, AfterGlow is a technology-based remix project, taking you on a journey through music production.
The project will be led by industry professional music producer Intalekt and will give you the opportunity to learn new skills, collaborate/network with other young producers nationally and have your music shared by Music For Youth.
Programme modules:
- Recording audio
- Drum Patterns
- Sound Scaping
- Melodies and chord progressions
- Remixing Live instruments
You will be able to explore different genres and find your own unique sound.
LEVEL
Intermediate (for those who are beginning their music production journey but need support getting more comfortable with producing)
WHEN
Attend 3 workshops on the 11th Jan, 25th Jan and 8th Feb 2022. Each workshop will be 2-hours long
WHERE
Workshops will take place online as we want to encourage young people nationally to take part.
What Is AfterGlow?
AfterGlow is a technology-based remix project, commissioned by MFY, and led by Lewisham Music. It expands the scope of the MFY Remix Prom beyond the live event, builds on all our digital work over the past 18 months and appeals to young music creators working in contemporary genres.
Taking the audio stems from the REMIX Prom 2021, young people will create remixed tracks, guided by Lewisham Music tutor Josh a.k.a Intalekt. These remixed tracks will then be showcased by Music For Youth in the new year.

‘We Produce’ is Lewisham Music’s group of 6 budding young producers who partake in a weekly production masterclass led by Lewisham Music tutor Josh a.k.a. Intalekt. Using the stems from performances at the MFY Prom the young producers will create remixes and reimaginings of the Prom material. This will predominantly involve using Software such as Logic or Ableton Live and Ableton Push hardware.

Through recommendations provided by national partners, Music For Youth will work with six to ten aspiring young people from across the country.
These six to ten young people will also have the opportunity to work with stems to create remixes, as well as receive mentoring and support through online workshops in Jan-Feb 2022 with Josh a.k.a Intalekt.
Intalekt
Josh AKA
Best known as an active music artist from South London and for hosting his own radio show on Reprezent Radio, Intalekt is a producer, musician, DJ and educator. Intalekt has a bi-weekly show on Reprezent Radio 107.3FM where he hosts, curates and manages the show, interviewing emerging and established music artists. Intalekt is one of Lewisham Music’s associate facilitators and has a unique set of audio, production, remixing and facilitation skills making him the ideal facilitator for this project.
