Double MOBO Award-winning YolanDa Brown, the premier female saxophonist in the UK known for her fusion of reggae, jazz and soul, will take to the stage on 12 and 13 November to host the MFY Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.
YolanDa is no stranger to big stages and has toured with Diana Krall, The Temptations, Billy Ocean, and collaborated with artists such as Snarky Puppy’s Bill Laurance, Reggae Legend Bob Marley’s son Julian, and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
Her work as a broadcaster on TV and radio has seen her presenting shows for the BBC including her eponymous series for CBeebies, YolanDa’s Band Jam, while she’s also appeared on a whole host of shows including Celebrity Mastermind, The Wright Stuff, Sunday Brunch, BBC breakfast and Gareth Malone’s All Star Music Quiz.
A champion for the importance of music education, YolanDa champions music for children in challenging circumstances and strives to bring music education to wider audiences in a fun and accessible way.
