The Stoke & Staffordshire Secondary Prom was Music for Youth's first ever concert specifically aimed at secondary aged students, made possible through the support of Vivendi. Presenting dynamic, vibrant and eclectic performances by young people these concerts aimed to inspire and motivate the next generation of music-makers. Taking place at Victoria Hall, all tickets were free.

A broad range of musical styles was presented, including the premiere of a new piece written by Vivendi Sounds, a brand new ensemble made up of young Staffordshire and Stoke musicians. This new ensemble was formed using mixed instrumental and vocals, working largely away from written music, the group devised and rehearsed an original ten minute piece full of energy and innovation that they will perform at Victoria Hall as part of the concert.
Working in partnership with the Junior Guildhall and the BBC Proms Inspire composition competition, young musician Sam Wilson performed a Marimba Solo written by 18 year old Catherine Cheung. This was the world premiere performance of this piece.
The concerts were presented in partnership with Victoria Hall, Staffordshire Performing Arts, Stoke City Music and Performing Arts Service and Make Some Noise.
