How can you Help?

Help Music for Youth, please make a gift in your Will

You can support music education for the next generation by leaving a gift in your will.

You can do this in two ways, one a pecuniary bequest (a set sum) or a residuary bequest (a proportion). You may wish to use the suggested wording as set out below.

Music for Youth recommends that you should always seek legal advice from a solicitor when you are creating a will or updating your will.

Pecuniary bequest (a set sum)

I give to Music for Youth (Registered Charity No. 285831) of 102 Point Pleasant, London, SW18 1PP, the sum of (amount you wish to give) and the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being of Music for Youth shall be a complete discharge to my executors.

Residuary bequest (a proportion)

I give to Music for Youth (Registered Charity No. 285831) of 102 Point Pleasant, London, SW18 1PP, (%) of the residue of my real and personal estate which I can dispose of by will in any manner I think proper and the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being of Music for Youth shall be a complete discharge to my executors.

It is also important that the following clause is added whichever wording you use.

If at my death any charity named as a beneficiary in this Will or any Codicil hereto has changed its name or amalgamated with or transferred its assets to another body then my Executors shall give effect to any gift made to such charity as if it had been made (in the first case) to the body in its changed name or (in the second place) to the body which results from such amalgamation or to which such transfer has been made.

Thank you for thinking of Music for Youth.
