National Partnership Awards

The National Partnership Awards provide a unique opportunity for Music for Youth to match some of the talented musicians who perform at the National Festival with music industry partners.

These partners are keen to welcome young musicians from across the country and offer them developmental music education experiences appropriate to the needs and circumstances of each group. The award sponsors represent some of the key players in the arts and music sector and have a wealth of knowledge to offer young musicians.

At the end of each main stage session at the National Festival 2016 two groups were nominated by our professional Music MentorsNominations were made based on:

  • Performance practice eg. quality of musicianship, commitment, stage presence, performance discipline
  • Innovation and creativity eg. choice of repertoire, imaginative presentation, student composition
  • Inclusive approach to performance eg. high quality whole group performance, inclusive project

Music for Youth considered all the nominations, and made the final selections in partnership with the award sponsors.

Music for Youth is grateful to the award sponsors, and hope that the activity programmes they present will inspire teachers, directors and most of all young musicians, leading to new partnership opportunities on an ongoing basis.
