National Festival

A five-day feast of live music! Hear the very best brass, classical, folk, choral and contemporary renditions from the UK’s leading young musicians.

Open to the public, every July around 8,000 of the UK’s brightest young musicians perform at world class venues and city-centre locations across Birmingham as part of the annual Music for Youth National Festival!

Want to take part in the National Festival in 2018? Registrations for our Regional Festivals, which start off our season and feed in to our annual National Festival, are now closed, but there's still plenty of time to submit a Recorded Entry!

Everyone who performs at a Regional Festival, or at one of the events in our new Local Events Network, is invited to National Festival! So whether your group takes up a main stage opportunity or gets involved in all the Fringe activity, put Tuesday 3rd - Saturday 7th July in your diary and we will see you there!

Highlights include Infant and Junior groups on Tuesday, Jazz, and World, Folk and Roots on Friday and a variety of Orchestra, Choirs, Ensembles, Brass and Wind and Chamber ensembles across each of the days, as well as New Music Stage opportunities.

Further announcements about this year's festival and festival fringe will be coming very soon, so stay tuned!
