Friday Afternoons is a nationwide singing project led by Aldeburgh Music, culminating on Britten’s birthday – 22 November 2013 www.fridayafternoonsmusic.co.uk

This is an hour-long workshop led by Dominic Peckham exploring the Friday Afternoons songs. Workshops will be appropriate for any age group and will be tailored specifically to the ability of your group. Dominic will run a workshop that celebrates Britten’s songs whilst also bringing in a more contemporary twist, introducing modern day styles. No preparation needed!


National Youth Choir of Great Britain
Singing Workshop for Senior Choirs

Who for   Senior Choirs, aged 13-21 years

From blend and balance to clarity and communication, this session for senior choirs led by Esther Jones, singing tutor for the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, will provide an opportunity to improve all aspects of your choral performance.


MU Careers in Music - Drop-in Surgeries

Time   Drop in sessions throughout the day from 10am

These MU drop in surgeries provide an opportunity to discuss anything to do with music careers, being a professional musician and working in the music industry. Also take advantage of £20 student membership to access all the benefits and services of being in the MU.


Festival Tent (Sponsored by NUT)

The Festival Tent is a great opportunity to perform in a more informal setting. Each group will have 10 minutes so why not showcase your musical talent to the people of Birmingham?

Who for   National Festival main stage performers (who do not require amplification)
Max participants   A group of approximately 5 young musicians

A unique opportunity to perform outside the main stages and showcase your musical talent at an internationally acclaimed contemporary art venue just near Symphony Hall!
