Following the MFY Schools Prom, which took place at the Royal Albert Hall 11-13 November, The Children's Commissioner for England sent MFY a letter, which we share with you in its entirety below:
I attended the Schools Prom at the Albert Hall as guest of the NUT last night and would like to say what a wonderful evening it was. The performances given were outstanding from all the many participants.
May I congratulate you on the excellent work your organisation carries out encouraging children and young people to take up and enjoy music. My work is based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in which Article 31 states that every child has the right to relax, play and join in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities. Last night was a wonderful realisation of this Article.
It was a truly uplifting event and gave me great pleasure to experience so many young people achieving success in music. Please feel free to share this letter with all those who took part.
With all good wishes for your continuing work.
