MFY is currently recruiting for the following two roles:

Operations and Finance Manager
Music for Youth
Salary circa £36,000 depending on experience
Based at MFY London office

Music for Youth (MFY) is an established London based music education charity, founded in 1970, which provides high quality performance and development opportunities for young musicians all over the UK. Through an annual season of festivals, concerts and special projects, including over 60 Regional Festivals, a six day National Festival and the Schools Prom concerts, MFY works with schools, music hubs and the wider community, offering a progression model whereby locally created work can be presented nationally.

Music for Youth now seeks an Operations and Finance Manager to work with the new Chief Executive as part of the Senior Management Team as the organisation moves into the next phase of its development. This new role will have overall responsibility for the efficient and effective operation of the Music for Youth office. Specifically, this includes the finance and HR functions, and aspects of income generation. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Operations and Finance Manager will also contribute to the strategic direction of the charity.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing finance, and of working at a senior level in a complex environment, preferably within an arts and/or educational environment.

Development Manager
Music for Youth
Salary circa £36,000 - £38,000 depending on experience
Based at MFY London office

Through an annual season of festivals, concerts and special projects, including over 60 Regional Festivals, a six day National Festival and the Schools Prom concerts, MFY works with schools, music hubs and the wider community, offering a progression model whereby locally created work can be presented nationally.

Music for Youth now seeks a Development Manager to work with the new Chief Executive as part of the Senior Management Team as the organisation moves into the next phase of its development. The Development Manager will be responsible for the organisation’s fundraising activity, and income generation, working closely with marketing and communications staff. This is a new post, and provides an opportunity to work closely with the Chief Executive, playing a key role in a busy and ambitious music education organisation.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience of working within an arts or education environment, with a track record of successful income generation, a good knowledge of the sector, and the enthusiasm to create new opportunities and develop this area of work.
