Music for Youth (MFY) is a national music education charity, founded in 1970, which provides high quality performance and development opportunities for young musicians across the UK. Through an annual season of festivals and concerts, including 70 Regional Festivals, a one day National Festival Scotland, six day National Festival Birmingham and three Schools Prom Concerts, MFY works with schools, music services and the wider community, offering a unique model for locally created work to be presented nationally.
Music for Youth now seeks a Head of Development and Communications to work with the new Chief Executive as the organisation moves into the next phase of its development. The Head of Development and Communications will lead the organisation’s fundraising activity, and have responsibility for all external marketing and communications, working with a small marketing team.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years experience of working in a senior role within an arts or education environment, with a track record of successful income generation, a good knowledge of the sector, and the experience and enthusiasm to lead our busy marketing and communications team. This is a key role within a busy and ambitious music education organisation.
