Youth Music Theatre is the UK’s national leading music theatre company for young people. Throughout this summer we are staging 7 productions made up of a company of over 300 young people aged 11-21. These productions take the form of a 2-3 week residential experience where our young people eat, sleep and rehearse together culminating in presenting the piece on a professional stage in front of a paying audience.

While we have completed our casting for this years’ productions, we are still on the lookout for the instrumentalists to work in our orchestras and bands. We are keen to find young people who are a grade 7-8 standard and who are interested in gaining valuable work experience in an orchestra and band pit.

We are currently looking for instrumentalists for our production of ‘Korczak’ at the Rose theatre, Kingston. Rehearsals will run from 23rd August to 30th August, with performances 31st August to 3rd September.

The instruments we still require are:

Tuned Percussion
Double Bass

The course is residential and participants will be based in Kingston university halls for the duration. The cost of the course is £610 – our course fee is charged to cover the cost of accommodation, food, pastoral supervision and tuition during the time on the course. If there is a problem with this cost we do have an access fund to help with the course fee.

Contact; Richard Price on 0844 415 4858 or for any further details or to register interest in one of the positions.
