This July, MFY will be celebrating 10 years of our National Festival in Birmingham! We're giving more young people the chance to take part, and more audiences the opportunity to hear the veritable feast of music on offer and get involved in some hands-on activities.

This year, we launch our new Festival Fringe across the city:

  • Sit back and relax in the surroundings of Cathedral Square as young musicians take to the CBD Stage. Our satellite stages showcase everything from live urban acts to the National Youth Chamber Choir
  • Try out a range of different instruments in Normans Zone
  • Come to a specialist public masterclass run by professional artists
  • Hear the finale of Britten & Beyond, our international twinning project
  • Check out the New Music Stage, which brings together composers and teachers from across the country
  • Attend a workshop day for primary schools based on our new teaching resource - Infinity… begins with 'I'

And this is just the beginning…! Our 10 year celebrations are yet to be revealed over the coming weeks. Become our friend on Facebook to keep up to date.
