Two million young people aged from four to
twenty-one have taken part in Music for Youth and you can
join them! The Music for Youth Regional Festival Series
celebrates the music of young ensembles in your local region
and brings together groups of all ages and abilities,
covering every type of music you can imagine.

To perform at a
Regional
Festival all you need to do is enter your group via our
online entry
form before the deadline. Music for Youth will allocate you
to your preferred festival, subject to spaces being
available. There are no entry qualifications for these
festivals, groups are allocated on a first come first served
basis, and if your preferred festival is already full you
will be given the option of attending a different venue or
sending in a recorded entry.
Performing at a
Regional
Festival will give you the opportunity to perform in
front of and listen to the music of other young musicians
from your local area. Adjudicators at the festival will give
groups instructive comments on their performance and present
a certificate of participation. A number of participants
from the Regional Festival Series are invited to perform at
the National Festival of Music for Youth in Birmingham in
July. The Music for Youth year culminates at the Royal
Albert Hall in November with the Schools Prom; a
celebration of music in education performed by ensembles and
groups who have appeared at the National Festival.
